Tommy Tripplehorn's New CD...

One of the innovators of the fabled "Tulsa Sound", Tulsa guitarist/pianist Tommy Tripplehorn has released a new CD called "Implications", available via this website. Tripplehorn, a mainstay of the Tulsa music scene and a former "Playboy" of the "Gary Lewis & The Playboys" fame, considers himself a better pianist then guitarist: "Once I decided to take up the piano I practiced eight hours a day - everyday." The new CD, which features a brilliant and accessible collection of pop and jazz standards (along with a version of the cowboy standard "Streets of Laredo", is receiving good reviews.

Those of you in the Tulsa-area can catch Tripplehorn around town playing solo piano, or as a guitarist for the blue-eyed soul man Bill Davis. Incidentally, Tripplehorn is the father of actress Jeanne Tripplehorn.
